Founded in 2006 by three guys who like to fly fish together, Trouttamer is fly fishing apparel company that aims to provide comfortable, quality fly fishing apparel at affordable prices. It’s about providing regular gear for regular guys who like to show their love for fly fishing both on and off the water.

Trouttamer headquarters is on Whidbey Island, WA in a small town called Oak Harbor. We all grew up here fishing at spots like Lone and Pass Lake. Casting for salmon and searun cuts off beaches at Fort Casey, Deception Pass and Bush Point. Our passion and addiction for the sport started with Roy. A northwest biologist, he was our fly fishing guide and guru. He taught us how to read the water, how a trout thinks, gave classes on entomology and attempted to be our casting instructor. The best part was that he got us casting all over the northwest and our adventures were numerous and memorable. A brother to us all – his love for fly fishing was contagious. So contagious, the fishing names and inspiration he provided have stuck around long after his departure from this earth. Trouttamer, Riverwalker and a few others told around a campfire remain with us – and it only seemed right to name our new company Trouttamer as a tribute to the man who started it all for us. Our idea is simple … fly fishing apparel doesn't have to be fancy, expensive or only worn on the water.
